After Miscarriage: Recovery and Nutrition
Miscarriage is common — and devastating
Around 1 in 5 known pregnancies ends in miscarriage. Most happen in the first 12 weeks. The cause is often unknown and the experience is, by any measure, traumatic.
If you've experienced miscarriage, please be kind to yourself. Grief is appropriate. Talk to your GP about whether you need physical follow-up. Reach out to professional support — the Miscarriage Association has UK-wide resources.
When to try again
Clinical guidance varies. Some GPs recommend waiting one cycle. Others say it's safe to try as soon as you feel ready, physically and emotionally. Speak to your GP.
What the next 90 days can look like
If you're returning to TTC after miscarriage, the next 90 days are a new preconception window. Your nutrition during those three months supports the egg that will be ovulated then — and the cycle that follows.
BioMirco Fertility Advance is designed for exactly this — the preconception window, with the active forms and research-backed doses to support egg cell development.
Recurrent miscarriage
If you've experienced two or more miscarriages, your GP should refer you for recurrent miscarriage investigations. These often include MTHFR testing, thyroid investigation, anticardiolipin antibody screening, and uterine assessment. Most causes are treatable.
