Accessibility Statement
We want every visitor to be able to use this website. Here is what we do, where we fall short, and how to tell us when something is broken for you.
Our commitment.
BioMirco wants every visitor to be able to use this website, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, keyboard navigation only, voice control, or alternative input devices.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard recommended by the UK Government Digital Service and referenced in the UK Equality Act 2010.
What we do.
- All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked as such so screen readers skip them.
- The site is fully navigable using a keyboard alone. Focus states are visible.
- Colour contrast on text meets WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Headings follow a logical hierarchy so screen readers can outline each page.
- Form fields have labels associated with them.
- Video content (where present) is not auto-played with sound.
- Pages reflow at 200 percent zoom without horizontal scrolling on mobile widths.
- We respect users who have set prefers-reduced-motion in their browser or operating system.
Known limitations.
We are honest about what is not yet perfect.
- Some third-party widgets (the cookie banner, the Shop Pay button, customer review modules) are owned by Shopify or app vendors. We test them with assistive technology but cannot always control their underlying code.
- Our online fertility tools (Window, Lab Results, Embryo Grade, hCG, Male Fertility, Readiness) are designed to WCAG AA but use complex interactive components that we continue to test and refine.
- A small number of older blog posts may have unlabelled images. We are working through the archive.
If something is not working for you.
If you find a page or feature that is hard to use with assistive technology, please tell us. We treat accessibility feedback as a priority.
Email hello@biomirco.com with the page URL and a short description of the problem. We aim to respond within two working days and to publish a fix or workaround within 14 working days where the issue is in our control.
Browser and assistive technology compatibility.
We test on the latest two versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox on desktop, and Safari and Chrome on iOS and Android. We test with VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), NVDA (Windows), TalkBack (Android), and full keyboard navigation.
If you use a different combination and something is broken, please let us know.
Enforcement.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the UK accessibility regulations. If you are not satisfied with how we respond to your accessibility concern, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
